Zero-P convection

Following videos are obtained from the 27-mode model of zero-P Rayleigh-Bénard convection (RBC).

 Video-3: Oscillating asymmetric square (OASQ) pattern obtained from the 27-mode model at r=1.065 in zero-P RBC. Top view at z=0.5 plane of the convection box is shown here.

 

 

 Video-4: Relaxation oscillations with an intermediate square regime (SQOR) pattern observed in the 27-mode model at r=1.012 in zero-P RBC.

 

 

 Video-5: Pattern corresponding to chaotic attractor Ch4 in 27-mode model at r=1.0342, P=0.

Dynamo

The periodic behavior in time can be clearly observed in the video. For this run Pm=1, K0=2, and Forcing amplitude of Taylor-Green forcing (F0) = 4.77. The simulation was performed on a 643 grid.
